    Full error message:

Telerik.Web.UI.RadTabStrip with ID='RadTabstrip1' was unable to find embedded skin with name 'DefaultX'. Please, make sure that you spelled the skin name correctly, or if you want to use a custom skin, set EnableEmbeddedSkins=false.

    Steps to reproduce:
    1. Add the Site Tabstrip to a template.
    2. Change the Skin property to an invalid value.
    3. Save the change.

After this point, the page display the above error within the Sitefinity interface. The problem is that clicking "Edit this template"  causes the same error to be displayed full screen, so I have no way to correct the problem.

In the meantime, I'll go look for the setting in the database and fix it there as a workaround.

    Thanks in advance,
    Gary

    Hello Gary,

To use RadTabstrip for ASP.NET AJAX with a custom skin (a skin that does not exist in the built-in set of skins), you need to set the EnableEmbeddedSkins property to False like this:

    <telerik:RadTabStrip ID="RadTabstrip1" runat="server" EnableEmbeddedSkins="false" EnableViewState="false"
    </telerik:RadTabStrip>

So to solve the issue open SiteTabstrip user control (~/Sitefinity/UserControls/Navigation35/SiteTabstrip.ascx) and modify it as it is described above.

Do let us know if it helps.

    Pepi,

Thanks for the information. I also found the value in the table sf_CmsWebControl and was able to undo the issue by editing the appropriate row.

The main purpose of my original post though was to alert you of the bug. Since this puts the CMS administrative end into a non-functional state by simply changing a text value, will you be resolving this in a future patch? (We don't want our customers to have this problem.)

    Thanks,
    Gary
