    Hi,

I am upgrading a clients site from 3.1 SP 2 to 3.2. I haven't tried to apply the patch instead I though I would try to upgrade the DB first.

I created a new project from the Project Manager. Clicked edit which ran me through the cmsstartup wizard and connected it to the old 3.1 SP 2 database. This went successfully.

However at the end of the Wizard it too me to login to Sitefinity login and the page did not load I got the following error.

    Server Error in '/Home' Application.

I don't know whether this was the right move but I used the assemblybinding in the webconfig to specifiy a dependant assembly for Telerik.Blogs I then got another error exactly the same but for "Telerik.Blogs.WebControls.Archive"

What am I doing wrong.... I though starting from a totally clean project it would be a smoother upgrade but it didn't help.

I then tried using the patch and got the same error.

    Thanks

    Seth Cleaver

    Hello Seth Cleaver,

We have experienced this problem a couple of times, in this forum thread you can find the solution to the problem. The only difference I see is that your Telerik.Blogs version is 3.1.1458.1 and Justin had one with version 3.1.1458.2 -  just a quick reminder to change this in the SQL script provided in the forum thread!

Let us know how it goes!

    Best wishes,
    Tihomir

    Hi,

Thanks for that ... it got rid of that problem after I ran the script but then I got this:

    Server Error in '/QRIntranet' Application.
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    The resource cannot be found.
Description: HTTP 404. The resource you are looking for (or one of its dependencies) could have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.  Please review the following URL and make sure that it is spelled correctly.

    Requested URL: /QRIntranet/sitefinity/Default.aspx

Version Information: Microsoft .NET Framework Version:2.0.50727.1433; ASP.NET Version:2.0.50727.1433

    Hi Seth Cleaver,

We are really surprised by the 404/Not found error. The SQL script and the Sitefinity administration page have nothing in common. Something more, this page is not stored in any way in the database, because it is not part of the project.
Can you elaborate a little more, for example, what is your actual request? To log in the administration? Could you check if \Sitefinity\Default.aspx actually exists?

We'll do our best to assist you further.

    All the best,
    Georgi

    Hi Seth Cleaver,

This may happen if you haven't set up your ISAPI filters, but I believe this is not the case, because you already had a previous version you were upgrading from. You mentioned you have tried upgrading on different servers, have you tuned the ISAPI filters on them also?

We are not able to reproduce the error and haven't received any other reports of the issue. We suggest you send us a simple project where we can see this error in action, so we could track and lock down the problem locally.

We apologize for any inconvenience caused.

    Kind regards,
    Georgi
