    Hi,

We have a custom library where we hae mp3 files and PDFs we have a 16.8 MB file which fails at around 28% with a request timed out error. The progress bar then (after a couple of minutes) restarts and the same happens agian. I have let this "loop" twice before hitting the stop button on FF.

The max file size on the library is 50MB so the file is well within limits

    Any help/advice is greatly appreciatied

    Thanks in advance

    Dan

In addition to this we tried the following post - http://www.khairie.net/2008/12/request-filtering-module-is-configured.html and this seemed to make no difference we did however manage to successfully upload the file from both the DB and Web servers - could this mean it is a network related issue?

    Hello Daniel,

Do you have a proxy server or some other middleware server between the server and the client machine? Also, could you try simply putting this file on the root of your application and download it directly to see if it will succeed or will drop in the middle?

    Hi Lubomir

Im afraid we do not have any proxy server between our database or web server.

I have tried to down load it from the server and we have a very slow internet connection Firefox reckons it is downloading at around 21kB per sec it seems to peak at 40kB per Sec!

In addition to this the file size is 16.8MB (i know because the file is on my desktop) however FF has determined the file size at 32MB! Not sure where that comes from.

Thanks again for your help it is appreciated

    Dan

    Hi Daniel,

So maybe the internet connection of your hosting provider is too slow? This doesn't look like a Sitefinity issue. Could you try creating a standard ASP.NET site and put a large file in its root and then try to download this file to see how it will go? I suspect your internet connection simply drops at some point.
