    Hi Telerik,
my website load really slowly, expecially in the home-pages per area. I have also applied the caching settings (10 min with sliding expiration), but the first time I open a page I've to wait a minute. Both css and images are optimized.
In these pages there are 5-6 NewsView controls that extracts one news everyone: it's possible they can slow down so much the page load?
Sometimes the back-end part is also slow. I work expecially with news (there are up to 500 news at the moment).
    Any ideas?

    Best regards,
    Bachar

    Hello Bachar,

500 news items should not be a problem. Can you try to remove the NewsView controls one by one and see whether the performance will be better. There is some issue with the filter expression and I suppose that when you have five controls on a page this causes the issue.

    Best wishes,

    Hi,
i've tried to create a test-page as a duplication of my home-page, and gradually I've removed the NewsView controls, one by one, and it seems to load faster now. But i need my controls. Which approach I need to resolve the situation? There someting in the control customization or in the tables I can try to make the loading time shorter?
    Thank you so much,
    Bachar

    Hi Bachar,

You can remove some of the values in the FilterExpression property from your controls. This will speed up the page load.

    Hi,
I tried, but my FilterExpression clauses are alrey minimal:
    Publication_Date <= "#now" AND Expiration_Date > "#now" AND Tag.Name = "mytag"

I can remove the "AND Expiration_Date > "#now"" clause (I don't need it), but not seems to improve the performances.

    Any other idea? Best regards,
    Bachar

    Hi Bachar,

    1. Try removing the filter expression from all controls so we could see whether the problem comes from the filtering.

    2. You could try to decrease the items per page value.

I tried, but cannot appreciate any improvement...
My newsviews selects only 1 news-per-control.

    Hello Bachar,

If you have 5-6 controls on a page and each of them shows only a single item, I do not see what could be a problem. Could you tell me how you show only a single item per control? Do you use filtering? If you want to show  only a single item I could come up with a custom solution that will render only certain item with minimal queries to the database in case you think that the problem is in NewsView control.

    Hi Ivan,
thank you for your suggestion. I solve my problems: the mistake was mine, there was an error in my NewsView customization.
    Thank you,

    Bachar
