    Hi,

We've recently had to change all of our passwords for our admin logins to all our clients. The passwords were to be set all the same and I thought that I had done this but now we cannot gain access to the sitefinity.

We've setup an email address to be used at the time of installation but there is no way that I can see where this password reminder option is so that we can have this mailed to us.

    Appreciate the help with this.

    Thanks.

    Hi James,

How did you change these passwords? We use password salt and hash. In some of the cases you cannot just change the password of a user.

    Hi Ivan,

Thanks for getting back to me. I managed to get it sorted out. In future though, how would I use this Password Salt to retrieve a lost password. Shouldn't there be a password reminder field like every other website on the web to have a reminder sent to the use?

    Thanks,
    James

    Hi James@Nw,

You are right we should have this in Sitefinity 3.x. Currently it is possible to implement it with simple custom logic inside passwordRecoveryButton_Click

    Sitefinity/Admin/CmsAdmin/Users.aspx.cs
