    What does the Video control base its templates on? I want to customize the layout to fit with the theme I am using. I was unable to find one inside of the ExternalTemplates zip folder that I have downloaded.

    I finally found it: It is under the 'Sitefinity/ControlTemplates/Libraries' folder for anyone else that is looking :)

    One other thing though:

    When I try to change the date format (via Edit > Advanced > Appearance), it is not updated when I preview the page. Any suggestions as to why this is happening? I have had no problem in other controls changing the date format with the same method.

    Cheers,
    anders

    Hello andersleet,

    Please use Uploaded Date TextSetting available under Video Settings section of the control. Please find attached a screenshot prepared for your convenience.

    Hey Ivan,

    Thanks for pointing that panel out to me I did not even see it.  Unfortunately for me, it does not look like it is applying the date format I select. Is it because of my custom control template? Check out the designer code:

    <asp:Repeater ID="repeater" runat="server"
        <HeaderTemplate>
            <div id="latest-post" class="post"
        </HeaderTemplate>
        <ItemTemplate>
            <h1 class="title"
                <asp:HyperLink ID="fullContent1" runat="server"
                    <asp:Literal ID="Title" runat="server" /></asp:HyperLink></h1
            <class="meta"
                <asp:Literal ID="litPostedBy" runat="server" Text="<%$Resources:PostedBy %>" />
                <asp:Literal ID="Author" runat="server" />
                <asp:Literal ID="litPostedOn" runat="server" Text="<%$Resources:PostedOn %>" />
                <asp:Literal ID="UploadDate" runat="server" text="{0}" /></p
            <div class="entry"
                 <p><asp:PlaceHolder ID="imageHolder" runat="server" >
                    <asp:HyperLink ID="fullContent2" runat="server"
                        <asp:Image ID="thumbImage" runat="server" width="525"/>
                    </asp:HyperLink>
                </asp:PlaceHolder>
                <asp:PlaceHolder ID="playerHolder" runat="server" /></p
                <p><asp:Literal ID="Description" runat="server" /></p
            </div>
        </ItemTemplate>
        <FooterTemplate>
            </div>
        </FooterTemplate>
    </asp:Repeater>

    I have not added any Code-Behind to this file.

    Regards,
    anders

    Hello andersleet,

    Remove the string format from the Text property of the Literal control with ID="UploadDate"  For instance you can use label control declared as below:

    <asp:Label ID="UploadDate"  runat="server" ></asp:Label>

    All the best,

    Hrm, something must be messed up on my side as it is still not working. It would not matter what my ControlTemplate files are named, would it? They are VideoItemList and VideoItemView, for the record.

    Cheers,
    anders

    Hi andersleet,

    I am not able to reproduce the problem using your code snippet in my external template. Please take a look at the attached video.

    I'm not sure if this is your issue, but just as a suggestion you might try checking the Advanced Tab of the control and make sure the templates in the appearance section point to the Site/finity/controltemplates/libraries item. if the field is blank it's likely using the embedded templates (built into the assembly) and will therefore ignore any changes you make.
