    Hi,
I am new in Sitefinity. I need to add a new thumbnail images picker for the pages. Is it possible?
If you ask me about this unique functionality, I need to show the image per category in the custom navigation module I would be building. Hence, I need to extend the pages module. Any help from any one would be highly appreciable.

    Thanks in advance.

    Regards,
    Pravat Sharma

    Hello team telerik,

How do I get the data from custom table in Nolics.net for stored procedure in sitefinity. I think it needs me to install the nolics application on my machine to do so which would be very difficult to install on the server. I need only an api to directly call a procedure without using the dbclass file or creating a unique class library for the same purpose.

    Thanks & Regards,
    Siddesh Kapadi

    Hello Siddesh Kapadi,

Could you please clarify what kind of data you need to get? We do have publicly exposed API which lets you retrieve data from database using code - we have a manager class for almost all types of modules which we have. This eliminates the use of any ORM and data access code calling stored procedures or getting tables. More information on the API can be found here. Please check Developing with Sitefinity section. It explains how to get data from the pages and all built in modules using respective managers.

    Hello Radoslav Georgiev,
I have extended the pages module by adding a custom field which would have the thumbnail Url inserted in a custom table. Once I edit the selected page, the thumbnail Url field needs to be populated with the data user already entered. How this can be achieved using the sitefinity api or is there any other way to achieve this?

    Thanks,
    Siddesh Kapadi

    Hello Siddesh Kapadi,

You should better use LINQ-SQL or Open Acess ORM. Nolics has been discontinued and we will not use it in Sitefinity 4.0. We will use Open Acess ORM.

    Hello,
Fine this can be achieved using the entity framework or linqToSql or OpenAccess ORMs, but is there a way to get this using any inbuilt functionality in sitefinity.

    Hi Siddesh Kapadi,

Our managers are used for built in functionality. Data access API for custom functionality is the developer's responsibility.
