    Hi guys, i was just wondering if the following is possible - well it probably is, but more precisely i'd like to know how to do it :-)

    Basically i would like to add an additional step to the work flow. For instance i would like a proof-read step to be added in between creation and approval so that the workflow is as follows (not including any regressions due to disapproval etc):

    draft --> proof-read --> approved --> published

    This additional step would not need any special functionality, it just needs to dropped in the process as above.

    any help would be much appreciated, keep up the good work guys :-)

    Cheers,
    Nick

    Hi Nick,

    Thanks for your inquiry.

    Please refer to the forum thread Extending Workflow for an information on how to modify or extend the built-in workflow engine.

    Another approach is adding a group of users to a role called proof read. Then, add this role to the approval step.

    Don't hesitate to contact us if you have other questions.

    Georgi,
    I am about to create a custom workflow and I would like to have more steps of process in workflow such as

    draft --> FirstApproved -->. SecondApproved --> approved --> published

    Would you show me how to add this role to the approval step.

    Thanks,

    Hello NK,

    You could take a look at this KB article How to notify roles that a page has been sent through workflow.
    The KB shows how to create a custom workflow  and custom workflow steps.

    Kind regards,

    Ivan,
    Thank you for quick response. Is it possible by any chance inserting a few more status into ApprovalStatus group such as:

    ApprovalStatus.FirstApproved;
    ApprovalStatus.SecondApproved;

    If yes, Would you show me how?

    Thanks,

    Hello NK,

    Adding additional workflow status is not supported.

    Hi NK,

    The KB that I sent you shows how to create a custom workflow. If you want to start from scratch, you will not be able to integrate your custom workflow with Sitefinity, because you will have to override about 10 base classes. Adding additional status will be supported in Sitefinity 4.0

    All the best,
