    Hi

I cannot see the blogs section in the toolbox and the blogs module in the Modules section.
I am using sitefinity 3.6. Do I need to make any changes?

I created a new project for testing. In that I can see the Blogs module. But, in my existing project it is not available.

    Hi Dinesh,

Most probably, for some reason the module is disabled from your web.config file. Just compare the web.config files, and see if the Blogs are presented in the <modules> section. You can also check if the issue is related to the permissions implemented for the current user.

    Sincerely yours,

    Hi Georgi,

I found the blogs in modules section and I logged in as admin.
I have compared the web.config files of two projects and ended with no luck...

    Hello Dinesh,

Can you access the module by typing the url directly in the url bar of your browser -
    http://domain.com/sitefinity/admin/Modules.aspx?module=blogs?

    Hi Ivan,

I tried to access the url but it is throwing an error.
"System.Collections.Generic.KeyNotFoundException: The given key was not present in the dictionary." What might be the reason?

    -Thanks

    Hi Dinesh,

The error is thrown because there is no module with requested name  "blogs". I am sorry I am not able to reproduce the problem you have using Sitfinity 3.2, 3.5, 3.6, 3.7 versions.

If the problem persists, please send a link to us from where we can download the project you use and your database. We will set up  your project locally and try to figure out what is going wrong at your end.

    Greetings,

    Hi Dinesh,

Remove the following line from your web.config

    <add key="Pages.IsRightNav" valueType="ShortText" visible="True" searchable="True" sortable="True" defaultValue=""/>

There is no Pages provider. The actual error is

    Exception Type: System.Configuration.ConfigurationErrorsException

    Message: Missing provider: Pages

which indicates from where the problem comes.

    Best wishes,
    Ivan Dimitrov

    Yes, that makes the difference...
First of all thank you very much. As many of us are new to sitefinity you people are doing a great job which makes our development more easy.

I have some questions for you...

    <add key="Pages.IsRightNav" valueType="ShortText" visible="True" searchable="True" sortable="True" defaultValue=""/>
1.Why does this line effects only Blogs module?

    Exception Type: System.Configuration.ConfigurationErrorsException

    Message: Missing provider: Pages

2.How did you get this exception details which I can't get anywhere in my debugging process? This would be helpful for many people

    -Thanks

    Hello Dinesh,

The actual error can be found in your Sitefinity's log file  - sitefinity.log located under App_Data folder. The error is thrown during initialization of the module and you cannot found it while debugging.

    Kind regards,
