    I have a news control
and i also have a categories tree

I can see all the articles against the category:
    i.e.
    Public News (8)

however, when you click on it, it only shows 1 article as the rest are past their expiration date

Is there a way to filter the categories tree so it ignores any that have expired?

In filters i just see "RootCategory"

    Thanks

    Hello Mark,

That's a tough one, unfortunately the CategoriesTree control will display the statistics for all content items marked with that category, so indeed it is not taking into account expired items. For the desired use case scenario you'll need to develop a custom TreeView-based control that's bound to the categories, for more information please check this forum thread.

    Hello Markus,

Thank you for the reply. I am using Categories Tree for Sitefinity 3.7 site, and the number shown for each of the categories is the total number of postings, rather than the ones that are presently active. I mean I don't want to show the count of the items that are expired, but the control shows the count for all the items tagged.
    Thank you,

    Hello Markus,

I believe there is no configuration setting that we can change such that the count does include expired items we might need a custom control as mentioned in this post here. But, the example that is pointed out does not correspond to count items instead it points to displaying all categories for even tough there are no posts associated with it.

    Thank you.
