    Hi Team Telerik,

    I have a unique problem. We have deployed the site in staging environment for content population in staging environment.Now it is almost complete and is ready to push to production.

    The way it is deployed on staging is:
    http://IP Address/mysite/

    Now since the content is already populated, we wish to take the back up of the database and restore on live DB.

    But now the issue is, for certain articles where we have a link or inside flash manager where the file is physical, we get the path as /mysite/Files/Flashfile.swf which I am sure is not going to work in production environment, where the url would be:
    http://mydomain.com/

    How can I resolve this issue?

    Please help as this is urgent.

    Regards,
    Siddesh Kapadi

    Hi Siddesh Kapadi,

    You can use the ReplaceTool to replace the links at once when you switch to production. Please check it out here - http://www.sitefinity.com/blogs/georgichokov/posts/08-12-15/replacetool_-_globally_replace_everything_in_your_project_with_zero_efforts.aspx

    Hi Telerik Team,

    In the section which it tells to edit the web.config file, where should we put the <tools>...</tools> configuration? Our web.config does not have current <tools> node. It does not say exactly where to put the configuration node. Our azure site throws an error when we put it on the root node.

    Hello J,

    Which version of Sitefinity are using? Every 3.x version should have this section in the web.config file - there are already built in tools registered there:

    <framework>
        ..
        <modules>
            ..
        </modules>
        <services>
            ..
        </services>
        <tools>
            <add type="Telerik.Cms.Tools.SiteExporter, Telerik.Cms"/>
                            ..add your tools here
        </tools>

    Kind regards,
    Georgi

    Does the ReplaceTool work with Sitefinity version 5.0?  If so, where should the following setting be placed in the web.config file:  <add type="Telerik.Cms.Tools.ReplaceTool, App_Code" />

    Thanks,

    Randy

    Hi Sean,

    The tool is for Sitefinity 3.x, which is an older version of Sitefinity. The replace tool from the blog post is not compatible with Sitefinity 4.x or 5.x.
