I was wanting to utilize the Cross-Page Postback functionality of Asp.Net 2.0. I have added a textbox and an image button to my master page. This will allow a user to search for classes that will be offered. I have set the PostBackUrl for the image button to go to my search page. On the search page, I created a custom control that would take the text entered in the textbox and perform the search. The problem I am facing is that I am not able to get a reference to the PreviousPage. The PreviousPage is always null when checking for it in the Page_Load of the user control. I was wondering if this had to do with when Sitefinity was adding the control to the page in relation to when the PreviousPage was being instantiated.

One other thing that has caught my attention is the SiteMap. When using the cross-page postback, the SiteMap is not setting the CurrentNode. I was testing the cross-page postback and noticed that my menu was not being built properly. This was due to the fact that the current node was not being set.

    Hi Richard,

Cross-Page Postback has not been tested with Sitefinity and it is quite possible that it will require additional work in order to support it. Most probably we will support Cross-Page Postback in version 3.1.

Thanks for bringing our attention to this issue.

    All the best,
    Bob
