    I have a ton of Categories in my Events New/Edit.  When I click on the category drop down, they are displayed upwards rather than downwards which is working against my design logic.  How can I get them to go down when I select the dropdown rather than up?

    <

    h3><asp:Literal ID="Literal4" runat="server" Text="<%$Resources:Category %>" /></h3>

    <fieldset class="set">

    <ol class="setIn">

    <li class="catSel clearfix">

    <asp:Label ID="Label4" AssociatedControlID="Category" runat="server">

    <asp:Literal ID="Literal5" runat="server" Text="<%$Resources:Category %>" />

    <em id="Em1" runat="server"></em></asp:Label>

    <sf:ContentCategoriesField ID="Category" runat="server"/>

    </li>

    </ol>

    </fieldset>

    Hello medicalwebgeek,

    By default when you create or edit an content item ContentCategoriesFilteld control displays the categories sorted by CategoryName. The actual method and that is called is GetContent(0, 0, "CategoryName"). So, the category order depends on the name you are setting.

    All the best,

    Sorry, I think there was a misunderstanding.  When I click on the dropdown that list all of my categories (when adding a new event), the dropdown items list is going up (vertically) rather than down and this means I have to start at the bottom of my list of items and scroll up.

    With standard dropdown list (both .net & telerik) I can specifiy the following:
    ExpandDirection=Down.

    Hi medicalwebgeek,

    ExpandDirection  property is available since Q2 or the RadControls for ASP.NET AJAX . We are going to release a SP of Sitefinity 3.x withing a several weeks ( SP3 of Sitefinity uses different version of the RadControls), so you can patch your project and do the following:
    ContentCategoriesFiled control has a property LayoutTempaltePath property which you can use to map the external template -CategoriesField.ascx . Inside this template the is the RadComboBox control declaration used by ContentCategoriesFiled where will be able to set ExpandDirection property.
