I think I was a bit rough on the Sitefinity Support Team.
They are doing a good job supporting Sitefinity Community users. Please do
accept my apology here.
At same time, please DO understand the pressure I got from
the clients. For example, I went to an on site demo last month, before I start
my demo, the first question my client ask me was “Please give me a good reason why I should
use your CMS (Sitefinity) system instead of Open Source and free CMS system”.
As you know, there are a lot CMS systems out there in the market and a lot of
them are open source and 100% free to the customers. Most of Open Source CMS
systems also have Blog, News and Poll …etc.
Basically, I want to setup the Sitefinity system to meet the
Client’s need so that I can have more clients. The more Clients I can get, the
more Sitefintiy license I am going to buy. I think that’s way to support
I want to change everywhere has “demo” to “advertising”. Please give me some details how to do it.
For the Image & document module, first I created a brand
new library in images and documents module, then uploaded couple images into
After creating the library, I created a brand new page and
drop the download list public control on the page. Next I choose the library I
created for the download list.
But for some reason, the download list doesn’t work at all.
When I clicked the link, browser says “Page can’t be found”.
Sonya, please let me know if you need more information.
You don’t know how much I appreciated when Sitefintiy
support team created the custom module for me. I think they are doing a great job too.
I am programmer myself and have been doing programming for
many years started with classic ASP, then asp.net 1.1, asp.net 2.0. I wrote a
couple of intra-site modules in last 6 month. I tried to write the pluggable module, but I
just don’t know where to get started. I read the Ivan’s blog regarding writing pluggable
module. The information on the Ivan’s blog just doesn't seem to be enough to
get started. I need more explanation and samples on how to use the API and how
to get started.
Anyway, thank you very much for your suggestion. I will give
a try and see which solution is better.
