    Hi,
We use Blogs & News modules to create blog & news items for our client website. We add blog & news links to sitemap.xml. To do so we use blog.rss.ashx & news.rss.ashx pages. Using xpath we extract links from these pages.I want to know is there a way to get blog & rss feeds using APIs instead of rss.ashx pages. If yes then can you also provide some samples.

    Thanks,
    Biren

    Hi Biren,

The rss feed just gets all published items from a given module by using GetContent method of ContentManager class.  You can take a look at finding content items. You can use IContent object and its properties in your custom implementation. Rss is a service and  if you want to work with it you can use RssDataManager class and its methods, but since you have direct access to the module through ContentManager class it does not make sense to tough the feed. If you want to run this in a context of an external application you can create a  web service.
