    Hola,

We have a custom user control in our deployment of sitefinity that needs to display a set of instructions. We can't display them using the Generic Content control as they are inside a tab in the custom control, however we are able to display them using the contentManager.

Currently, we are doing this by using contentManager.getContent(GuidID) and we are setting the guid as a public property on our control.  To do this, we are simply looking up the GUID of the particular shared content we want and typing it into the public property.

What we would like to be able to do, is to use the content selector popup that the Generic Content Control uses to allow uses to select the content they wish to display.

Is there an example of this some where that we can see? I've been looking around and haven't been able to find any information.

    -Jon

    Hi Jon Ingersoll,

Please take a look at this post (WebEditors inside RadWindow and callback ) where I have provided the implementation of Content selector.

    Ivan,

Thank you for the quick response. We not looking to create a custom content selector. The content is standard sitefinity shared content and we'd like to just use the existing content selector that is already in sitefinity so that the functionally matches.  All we need is the selector so that the user can use that to populate the guid into the public property of our control.

The article that I point you shows how to create a custom web editor (selector) which list all shared content items. The value property of the selector returns the ID of the selected item from the Grid.
