Hello carol harry,
The first think you should decide, is to what you are going to manage with Sitefinity, and what should stay in the e-commerce product.
1. How to integrate the content from CMS to our application
The easiest way for doing this is by creating a content web service which should serve the content to your 3rd party application. The content service itself should work with our API to extract the data out of the CMS.
If your e-commerce solution supports multiple content providers, then you can create a custom provider for it, which takes the content from our database and pass it to your application.
In both scenarios you will manage the dynamic content through Sitefinity. You should decide which module fits best in your needs, and how to relate the e-commerce data with the Sitefinity content items.
How to update the content dynamically with our product information?(say
we have new products in our database and marketing is talking about the
new products. We have to fill in the content dynamically with links to
the new products in our site).
This is more or less the same as in the first case, but this time Sitefinity should read the changes in your database and imports them. The easiest way will be RSS like - the content items from your database are exposed through in XML format. Then you create an XML parser control and using the API store the item in the appropriate Sitefinity module.
I hope this helps.
