We upgraded our website from 3.5 to 3.6.

before upgrading when we upload different images with the same name , sitefinity overrides the previous image with the current one.
but in 3.6 when we try to upload different images with the same name, it is storing the second image with some other name and not overriding the previous image.

we need the override feature. how can we enable it and why it changed in 3.6.

for example if I upload  sampleimage.jpg two times, second time its being saved as sampleimage(1).jpg.

here our need is two replace old logos and images just by uploading with the same name.

Can any one please give me some guidelines.

    Thanks
    Venkat

    Hi Venkat,

You could try to use "Re-upload this image" option that is available for each ContentItem. Another option is mapping the external template for LibraryItemUpload and setting OverwriteExistingFiles property of RadUpload control to true. The third option is overriding LibraryItemUpload view.

    Best wishes,

    Hi Ivan,

Thank you for your quick reply.

We are storing our images and swf files under files folder.

We are not using generic content or Library to store images.

We are using files section to store all files including images.

If I uploaded any existing file or image, how can I override the existing file or image.?

    Thanks
    Venkat

    Hello Venkat,

It does not matter where you upload your images. You  should get the RadUpload declaration( or use server side code) and set the OverwriteExistingFiles property to true.
