    hello
we upgraded a site from 3.0 to 3.6 (Sitefinity 3.6.1936.2:1) but there has occurred a problem which am not sure is due to the upgrade or inherent to 3.6.
there are 2 links on a page:
    1. link1: linked to “page1.aspx” which is a members only page and if somebody is not logged in then it resolves to “Item not found: [Sitefinity]5a2feb0d-10c5-4f59-88d6-0cc758c873d5”. However, if you are logged in then it resolves to “page1.aspx”
    2.   link2: linked to “page2.aspx” which is not a members only page. It resolves to correct url irrespective of whether you are logged in or not.
both were added using the same technique in the generic content editor, i.e. in the select a page from this site window.
please see attached screenshots of firebug.
is there something we can do to fix it?

    thanks in advance

    Hello Richa,

The problem looks like a bug that we had in the past. The problem is that the link is not resolved, because the target page is secured. Could you please confirm that? Please check if dynamic link is pointing to a secured page, make the page unsecure and check if the content is still rendered with the Item not found text. Please ensure that there is no caching, since you might see the cached content with the error message.

You may also try to upgrade to the latest version, which should fix the problem.

    Sincerely yours,
    Georgi

doesnt the member's only page mean that it's a secured page?? sorry for my terminology.. yes, it is a link to a secured page; is there a fix in the version that we are using, i mean i can fix it programmatically for the client if you can show me the way.

    thanks

    Hello Richa,

Unfortunately there is no fix for the current version. The upgrade to the SP3 should be quite easy though. It should take you less time then developing a fix for the issue.

    Kind regards,

Has this error been corrected?  We are running Sitefinity 3.7 and this thread seems to indicate that the problem was fixed in 3.6 SP3.  We still have this exact same issue in 3.7

    Hi Greg,

Seems that I've been refering to 3.7SP3, this error should be resolved there. Apologies for my omission to specify the right version.
The same problem is reported here - http://www.sitefinity.com/devnet/forums/sitefinity-3-x/bugs-issues/item-not-found-is-not-a-valid-virtual-path.aspx
