We are evaluating Sitefinity and are contemplating using multiple image/document libraries (Library 1 and Library 2)  for storing documents.  We had planned on using separate category hierarchies with different top level nodes (Top Node 1 and Top Node 2).

The inital setup and display of Page Name appears to work correctly (CategoriesTree in sidebar and DownLoadList in content).  We set the Data\ProviderName=Libraries; Filters\RootCategoryName=Top Node1 and set the Behavior\CategoryContentURL=Page Name.  When the page is initially accessed, we wanted to limit display to the category hierarchy = Top Node 1 and display the corresponding files in the DownLoadList on the same page.  So far so good!

When the subcategory is selected, the page is refreshed to limit the files in the DownLoadList to the chosen subcategory - let's say 2nd Level Node 1.  This works correctly as well.

The problem is the CategoriesTree now displays both Top Node 1 and Top Node 2 and their associated subcatgories.  We have reviewed the documentation, forums and KB - there is not mention of this type of setup.  If we were using the RadControls in Visual Studio, we would add an additional criteria to the SQL/OQL to limit display to the nodes of interest.  How is this done in Sitefinity?

    Hello Donald,

Sorry, but we cannot understand the problem. Could you please explain it in more details?

Categories Tree control work in this way:
By default Categories Tree control display all categories with sub categories. If you want to set a filter for categories, expand section Filters, and set a category for which you want to filter the tree view in the field RootCategory.

If you want to set the root category to be shown in the tree view, expand section Behavior, and select True for ShowRootCategory.
The values in the MaxDataBindDepth field allows you to set the maximum number of hierarchical levels to be displayed. The default is -1, which binds all the levels in the data source to the control.

    Kind regards,

We rebuilt the page and it's content in the meantime.  Everything works as indicated.  Thanks for your reply.
