    Hi!

    In some recent threads I have wrote about backend CategoriesView performance and Ivan Dimitrov helps me with his great post. But I have some questions about described solution.

    1. Does this solution applies for every CategoriesView of each module? (In Images & Documents I have 1000 categories and they load fast but in Generic Content I have 200 categories and they load too slow)

    2. Can you describe for me some thing: why in Visual Studio when I click on Categories while debugging it loads a lot of 'anonymous code'? What does It mean?

    Thank you.

    Hello Paul,

    1. The implementation can be used for each CategoriesView view, no matter of the GenericContent based module.

    2. I am not sure what anonymous code you go through, but most probably you go to the base methods which you cannot debug entirely.

    Hi Ivan!

    1. If that implementation can be used for each CategoriesView then what sholud I change in your code snippets?

    2. I'm telling about files 'anonymous code' in Windows Internet Explorer which I can see when open CategoriesView while debugging in Visual Studio. While loading categories count of this files is became so giant =). There is some content of this files:

    function anonymous() {
    ValidatorOnChange(event);
    }

    function anonymous() {
    ValidatedControlOnBlur(event);
    }

    function anonymous() {
    if (!ValidatedTextBoxOnKeyPress(event)) { event.cancelBubble = true; if (event.stopPropagation) event.stopPropagation(); return false; }
    }

    What does this code mean? Maybe loading of this code makes CategoriesView performance so badly?

    Thank you.

    Hi Paul,

    1. Most probably you need to change some of the Resources for the different modules. The implementation is the same for all modules ( because they inherits from a base class).

    2. Most probably this code comes from Microsoft AJAX ASP.NET or it is loaded by one of the RadControls. There is no function anonymous() in our embedded scripts.

    Best wishes,

    Hi Ivan!

    As I understand from your blogpost and your last posts: for applying this fix to Generic Content CategoriesView I should change settings in Configuration.xml, am I right?

    Thank you.

    Hi Paul,

    You have to replace the view - Replacing a child view with another one

    Hi Ivan!

    Ok! Is CategoriesView that you include in blogpost good for it? Or as you wrote before I need to change some Resources, yes?
