In this article http://www.sitefinity.com/devnet/kb/sitefinity-3-x/optimizing-performance-on-sitefinity-web-site.aspx it makes reference to the ability to fire an event from code to invalidate a page from cache, however it provides no example on how to do this.

I have an admin section that allows users to change images and content for products, I need to invalidate pdp pages from the sitefinity cache after a user changes a product, how do I achieve this?

    Hello Ian,

You can take a look at this post  which refers to several resources with samples. You can explicitly flush the cache since Sitefinity version 3.7 SP7 where we implemented NotifyAll method for the DatabaseCacheDependencyHandler. Using a SubstitutionControl should solve your issue.
