    Hi everyone,

this is my first post in forums - let me briefly say that everyone is really doing gret job here.
Now to the point - we have recently started to use Sitefinity and RadControls and I'm trying to build some pluggable module with 'Bare-bones Pluggable Module' template as described in developer manual.
Everything is ok until I place any of RadControl (ie. RadDateInput) in my SamplePublicControl.ascx. After that the page is displayed ok in browse mode but NOT ok in edit mode.
In the place of my control I can see error message : "Error rendering control - PublicControl1. An unhandled exception has occured. Page cannot be null. Please ensure that this operation is being performed in the context of an ASP.NET request." I searched in forums and kb but couldn't find anything...

    Thank you,
    Davorin P.

    Hello davorin,

For completeness, I will answer here, as well as your support ticket.

Currently, pages in cms edit mode do not have HttpContext. RadControls require it to register with AjaxManager. Therefore, you see an error. We have an interface, Telerik.IEmptyControl, in Telerik.Framework.dll, that defines a message that will be shown when the control is empty. The interface also tells when the control is empty.

In this case, you will make the control "empty" if it is in edit mode.

We are working on providing a new page editor for the next version of Sitefinity, which will not have this problem with HttpContext.

    Kind regards,
    Dido
