    Hi,

I have a legacy system that is responsible for sending emails. The legacy system receives xml and applies a xslt template against the xml and sends a formatted email to the user.  The stored xslt templates are currently stored as files in a directory.

There is a requirement to store these templates in the cms so they can be edited. I have created a new module in sitefinity cms called email templates. This module contains email templates.  When I publish the email templates I would like to publish the xslt template to a file directory location where the legacy system can access it but also publish the xslt templates in the cms database. How can I do this?

    Thanks
    Stuart

    Hello Stuart,

Is this Generic Contentent based module or not? When you click on the "Create" button of your module can't you publish the xslt template to a file directory?

If you use Generic Content based module the data persistence should be handled out of the box.

    Kind regards,

    Hi,

Yes, It is a content based module. The data is getting saved in the cms database correctly.
I have attached a screen shot detailing what I think the basic functionality should be.

I am a complete newbe to sitefinity. I am not sure what you mean by create button. If you mean create item I believe putting it there would not be the correct functionality. I want to publish the contents of the xslt to file location when you hit publish.

    Thanks
    Stuart
