    Hi,

    I want to remove a view from the Images And Documents Module. When I remove the TagsView via the Telerik.Sitefinity.Configuration.ControlsConfig.xml file, the link to the TagsView doesn's disappear from the Command Panel. However, if I click on the TagsView link, an exception is thrown saying the The ViewMode "TagsView" is not defined for this control. What is the best way to get the TagsView removed from both the Controls Panel and the Command Panel? My config file has

    <viewSettings hostType="Telerik.Libraries.WebControls.Admin.LibrariesControlPanel, Telerik.Libraries">
       <views>
        <remove name="TagsView"></remove>
       </views>
      </viewSettings>

    Thanks for you help,
    Bobby

    Hello Bobby,

    This is a bug which will be fixed in the next SP of Sitefinity 3.7 that is scheduled for the beginning of August. Meanwhile you may open a Bug Report and make a request for a custom build about this issue.

    Hi Ivan

    Thanks for your quick reply. Just as another option, I decided to inherit from the LibrariesControlPanel and LibrariesCommandPanel classes and remove the view and command link manually with my own custom classes. However, when I re-add the different child views, i.e the default LibrariesView, TagsView, etc, and click on the corresonding command links for those views, an error is thrown saying the ViewMode is not LibrariesControl. I am assuming that's thrown because the parent view of those child views have changed from LibrariesControl to my custom control that inherits from LibrariesControl. Is there an easy way to fix this error without creating a custom class for each of the child views that inherit from my custom view?

    Thanks,
    Bobby

    Hello Bobby,

    The problem is not in CreateViews() and when the View is added. Modifying CreateViews() require to implement each view or at least create these views and inherit from the base classes.

    Ivan,

        These are my end goals.

    1. To change the name of the CategoriesView command link to a custom name in the Images&Documents Module.
    2. To remove the TagsView from the Images&Documents Module.

    I know you said item number 2 is a bug. Is there a workaround that I can do now? Also, is there a good way to do item number 1?

    Thanks again,
    Bobby

    Hello Bobby,

    The name of the CategoriesView is taken from resx file and it cannot be changed. You have to override the behavior of LibrariesControl panel and generate the commands manually. You have to override CreateStandardCommandPanels and create a custom method CreateLibrariesCommands(list) where you construct the command panel. The better option here would be if I send you a custom build where both issues will be sorted out.

    Kind regards,

    Thanks for your response Ivan,

    Is it possible to send a custom build with those changes?

    Thanks,
    Bobby
