    Hi all,

    Is it possible to create a page inside the sitefinity backend that shows settings from the web.config? And update the settings in the web.config?

    I'd like to create the functionality of getting and setting the Twitter account settings inside the backed. Not for a user, but application wide.
    So, I thought that maybe under Administration -> Tools -> Twitter Account

    Is this possible?

    Regards,
    Daniel

    Hi Daniel,

    You can use AppSettings element of the web.config and add /remove keys at runtime. Another option is storing the data in XML or in a database table. The better option will be getting and setting the data in custom database table.

    There is no problem to crate  a page under Administration >> Tools. To create  a new tool you have to create a custom class that inherits from ITool and add a method that will return the path to your control template

    public Control CreateControlPanel(TemplateControl path)
    {

     return path.LoadControl("~/Tools/Twitter/TwitterAccount.ascx");

    }
