I am running Sitefinity 3.7 on a Win7 box. I have RadControls for ASP.Net installed, and built a sitefinity site while version 2009.3.1103.35 of RadControls was installed. Yesterday, I upgraded to the newest version of RadControls, after first uninstalling 1103.35.

When first loading my site into Visual Studio 2008, a wizard popped up, and asked if I wanted to upgrade the site to use the new version of RadControls. I accepted, and the upgrade completed with no errors or warnings. Now, when i load my site, i get the following errors:

    The site itself:
Parser Error Message: Could not load file or assembly 'Telerik.Web.UI, Version=2009.3.1103.35, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=121fae78165ba3d4' or one of its dependencies. The located assembly's manifest definition does not match the assembly reference. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131040)
    Source Error:
    Line 1:  <%@ Page Inherits="Telerik.Cms.Web.InternalPage" MasterPageFile="~/Sitefinity/Dummy.master" %>

    The site's admin-site:
"Could not load file or assembly 'Telerik.Web.UI, Version=2009.3.1103.35, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=121fae78165ba3d4' or one of its dependencies. The located assembly's manifest definition does not match the assembly reference. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131040)"
The error page seems to be login.aspx

    Any ideas?

    Hi Jeppe Jespersen,

The problem is that you have upgraded the controls instead of creating bindingRedirection. Also we have about 50 dlls that are compiled against certain version of Telerik.Web.UI.dll so we do not suggest upgrading of the controls. In this cases you can use probing path attribute. You can gather more information about bindingRedirect at MSDN

    <binding>Element
    <probing>Element

    Kind regards,

    Hello Ivan,

I have in fact tried to redirect using the markup below:

    <

    probing privatePath="bin;sitefinity\admin\bin"/>

    <

    dependentAssembly >

    <

    assemblyIdentity name="Telerik.Web.UI" publicKeyToken="121fae78165ba3d4" />

    <

    bindingRedirect oldVersion="2009.3.1104.35" newVersion="2009.3.1208.20"/>

    </

    dependentAssembly>

But I still get the exact same errors. :-/

    Hi Jeppe Jespersen,

Do you have both dlls in your project, since you use the probing element? As far as I see it you have specified sitefinity\admin\bin as a probing path.
