    Hi,

I am new to Sitefinity. I am using a site menu from the Navigation group in the controls area to make a webpage. When I drop it inside the content holder, it show me 2 tabs namely 'Home' and 'TestPage'. I want to edit their properties but cannot access the aspx page and the graphic interface for control does not gve me an option to add more tabs to  the menu tool. Can you please help. It would be very helpful if you could tell me how to access the aspx code of a page designed in sitefinity. I cannot find the property that I need to find in the UI mos of the times. and this is true foe all controls. If you could be specific for site menu and give me a general idea for all controls that would help a lot. Thanks

A link to  a demo using the site menu would be great. Thanks again.

    Hi,

Add more pages and you'll have more tabs/menu items.

If you want to do it manually, you should copy the SiteMenu.ascx from the Sitefinity folder to a custom folder, register it in the web.config as a new UserControl (under Tools) and edit the files.

    Regards,
    Daniel

Thank you Sir. I just finished building my new custom template from scratch (taking the Default.master) and renaming it. However I try to edit a page that uses this new template of mine and the controls do not allow me to put in new content. Example I have image controls in the content place holder in my new template and now when I make a new page using this template and try to  add my own new images, it does not give me the option. It just shows the "no image" icon (I mean the icon with a small "X" that normally shows up when theres an image missing). can you please tell me why and how to get rid of this and be able to add/edit inside the controls on the page using my new template?

    Thanks

And I know  that there is still something wrong with my new template because when I scroll down to see the contentplaceholders below, the contentplaceholders above just leave a white box kind of a background and the real contentplaceholders actually move (or readjust according to the scroll position). There is definitely something something wrong with the template but I am not able to figure what.

    Hello Viren,

Check the css classes that apply over your ContentPlaceHolder controls. The adjust of elements could appear if you are setting some rules like padding-bottom.

You might not see an image if the path the the image is not correct or your have not added proper handler mappings in IIS ( for example for items uploaded through Images and Documents module you need sflb.ashx handler mappings. You can easily observe the path to your image by using FireBug or another web tool.

Editing control properties - our control designer expose all public properties of a control, but you cannot use it to edit properties of RadMenuItem object for each node. You need a custom control that builds the items dynamically from the SiteMap or ICmsPage objects and you should expose properties that will allow you to manage the item in design mode. Here is a similar control .

    Kind regards,
