Hi - We've been working with Sitefinity for a project for some time now, and I'm beginning to work with comments. I notice that in our web.config we have set allowComments="true" and commentsModeration="true" for all of our modules, comments are still posting to the site directly.

Is there another area where I need to make these changes as well? We are on Sitefinity 3.6.

    Thanks!

    Greg

    Hello Greg Delorey,

The public control - say NewsView has a section of properties Comments. Make sure that AllowCommentsModeration is set to true there.

    Kind regards,

    Hi Ivan -

Thanks for responding! I did find what you are referencing in the properties and the site is now allowing for moderation for Blogs and News. However, I can't seem to find where to actually moderate the News comments. For blogs, I can open up the blog in the admin console and there's a 'Comments' link where I can access and manage comments. When I do the same for News, I see no similar link. Can you tell me where I can find and manage comments related to News items?

    Thanks!

    Greg

    Hi Greg,

If you´re talking about the newsView you could take a look in "Edit News View/Advanced/Comments" There you have a "AllowCommentsModeration".

Hope this will guide in the right direction.

    Good luck!

    Hi Johnny -

I was able to enable this for News, the difficulty I'm having now is finding where the comments go once they are to be moderated. I don't see a Comments section for News like I do with blogs...

    Hello Greg Delorey,

If allowComments="true" and commentsModeration="true" are set in the web.config you should see the Comments navigate link in the command panel of  the NewsModule. Enabling the comments backend view for version prior 3.6 is described here

    Best wishes,

    Ivan -

Found my issue; for some reason in the News providers section in the Web.Config I was missing the whole allowComments="true" piece. Added that in and now I can see the comments link. Thanks for your help this morning, much appreciated!
