When creating a new page how do I categorize the new page so the CMS knows what it is and where to display it? I want to standardize my URL creations, and have the ability to use this page in various features through the site.

For example I wanted to creaet a new page that is an NFL article. I want this article to appear /NFL/Ariticles/ArticleName.html. I can certain just manually type in the name of the file with the correct URL, but this doesn't help me standardizes files structure, or give me the ability to use this page in other places with other controls.  I would think there should be some kind of way for me to tag the page in the page creations feature as belonging to the NFL > Article > cotnent.  There doesn’t seem to be any way to do this in the Create a Page feature. I created a bunch of categories in the Module section but that doesn’t appear to do anything.

    Thanks,

    Dan

    Hello Daniel Fabrizio,

We will support this feature from Sitefinity 4.0. The current implementation of pages does not allow to extend page's properties. You can do this by creating custom provider and persists your tags or categories and then retrieve them in the proper control. You can use Linq-SQL or OpenAccess.

Thanks for the reply. Do expect Version 4.0 to be rolled out anytime soon? (like in the next couple of months?)

Can you show me an example of a site that's created their own module to do what I'm asking?

    Hello Daniel Fabrizio,

There is no certain date scheduled for Sitefinity 4.0. Most probably we will be able to release in the middle of April or beginning of May. As for similar implementation you can take a look at Page Meta Data - Intercepting Sitefinity . I suggest that you should use OpenAccess or Linq-SQL.
