    Hello,

    I am using Sitefinity 3.6 SP2.

    I am trying to change the CSS for the Generic Content Control editor area, so that when a user enters data, the expected font, color, etc show up. I have read about editing the EditorContentArea.css file (~/Sitefinity/Admin/Themes/Default/AjaxControlsSkins/Sitefinity/EditorContentArea.css), but when I do, it has no affect on the Generic Content Control editor area CSS. What exactly is required to change the CSS?

    Hi Alfred Pena,

    1. Map the external template for GenericContentControl designer.

     <viewSettings hostType="Telerik.Cms.Engine.WebControls.Design.GenericContentDesigner"
        layoutTemplatePath="~/Sitefinity/Admin/ControlTemplates/Generic_Content/GenericContentDesigner.ascx" />

    2. Change EditorCssFile or replace it with your custom one.

    <CssFiles>
            <telerik:EditorCssFile Value="~/Sitefinity/Admin/Themes/Default/AjaxControlsSkins/Sitefinity/EditorCssFile.css" />
        </CssFiles>

    You can gather more information at Default Font for Editable Content

    Ivan,

    This keeps happening where in this forum a file is referenced that does not exist in sitefinity. It's very confusing and frustrating. You mention:

    "~/Sitefinity/Admin/ControlTemplates/Generic_Content/GenericContentDesigner.ascx"

    There is NO "GenericContentDesigner.ascx" file anywhere in Sitefinity.

    The file "EditorCssFile.css" does exist, but it does nothing to effect the content area of a generic content control.

    So I repeat my original question, for Sitefinity 3.6 SP2, how do you change the base css that the user sees inside the content area of a generic content control that they have dragged onto a page and are editing it's content?

    Alfred

    Hi Alfred Pena,

    As I wrote "Map the external template for GenericContentControl designer". For more information please take a look at How to map a template. Once you map the external template for Generic Content control you will be able to control its appearance, styling, RadEditor's properties.
