    Hi,

    I've been extending the blog module to include a description field and an image field. I've added the PostNew/PostEdit controls and resources files, added the ContentViewItemList and edited the web.config and the config file.

    Everything looks right when I go to the admin file, I can enter a description and select an image from the library but it doesn't seem to save that info. When I save a new blog post there is no information for those sections in the details block. or when I view the blog.

    Is there anything I've most likely missed?

    Hi Aaron Collyer,

    Everything looks right when I go to the admin file, I can enter a description and select an image from the library but it doesn't seem to save that info.

    1.Please make sure that the metakey name is the same as the control ID you have use to persist the data.

    Example

    Metakey

    <add key="Blogs.CustomKey" valueType="ShortText" visible="True" searchable="False" sortable="False" defaultValue="" />

    Control

    <asp:TextBox runat="server" ID="CustomKey" />

    2. Make sure that your controls are added inside ContentMetaFields control that is declared in PostNew and PostEdit templates. If your controls are outside ContentMetaFields control the data will not be persisted.

    There is a descriptive section Adding Custom Fields in our the User Manual - page 214
