    Hi Team,

    I want to know if we can change the default path for uploading flash /media files etc from existing //web_directory/files to some shared network path ?

    The reason is that our production environments prohibit users from uploading content to web directory due to it's security constraints.

    Please find an attached image for visual illustration.

    Thanks and Regards,
    Raghu

    Hello Raghu,

    Map external template for GenericContentControlDesinger.ascx

    http://www.sitefinity.com/support/kb/sitefinity-3-x/how-to-map-a-view-to-an-external-template-in-sitefinity-3-6-or-later.aspx

    from where you have access to the RadEditor declaration which will allow you to configure its managers.

    sample

    <ImageManager ViewPaths="~/Images" UploadPaths="~/Images" DeletePaths="~/Images" />
    <MediaManager ViewPaths="~/Files" UploadPaths="~/Files" DeletePaths="~/Files" />
    <FlashManager ViewPaths="~/Files" UploadPaths="~/Files" DeletePaths="~/Files"  MaxUploadFileSize="104857600"/>
     <DocumentManager ViewPaths="~/Files" UploadPaths="~/Files" DeletePaths="~/Files" />

    Hi Ivan,

    Thanks for your response.

    Can you please help me in locating the file GenericContentControlDesinger.ascx file in sitefinity solution? Earlier I downloaded 3.7 trials from Sitefinity website and later updated the same solution with licensing keys. I don't know if this project is updated with latest service pack or not? How to check that? Also if I update the Sitefinity 3.7 with latest service packs available online, will it overwrite my existing customized implementation on sitefinity?

    Thanks and Regards,
    Raghu

    Hi Raghu,

    GenericContentControlDesinger.ascx is not in the solution. It is inside the external templates archive that you should download according to the KB.
    The upgrade will not override your custom implementation if you merge the custom files with the files from the upgrade patch.
