    Hi there,

I'm a newcomer to all things Telerik, so bear with me if this is more of a RadEditor question than a Sitefinity one.

I'm getting double <br /> tags to separate paragraphs when filling in content items. These really need to be <p> tags, and they need to be so consistently and without any attention from the people who will be using the CMS.

Is there a setting or something that can be swapped so we generate clean, semantic paragraphs upon render?

    Thanks,
    Dan

Oh, and there should be a "<br />" in the title of this thread. Might wanna strip those ;)

    Hi Milkman Dan,

Yes, you are right - it is a RadEditor question :) . Nevertheless, I will give you an answer from a Sitefinity perspective.

First of all, let's see how RadEditor handles the br versus p tag dillema. To get the full info, you can visit this page: Using the NewLineBr Property . However, to make the long story short, you need to set the NewLineBr property to false.

Now, in order to change the behavior of RadEditor controls for GenericContent, for example, you need to go to ~/Sitefinity/Admin/ControlTemplates/Generic_Content , and there open these files:
    • ControlPanelInsert.ascx
    • ControlPanelEdit.ascx
    • EditorTemplate.ascx

Locate the RadEditor controls, and set on each of them the NewLineBr property to false. The same applies to Blogs, News and any other module that contains RadEditor as an input control.

    Hope this helps.

    All the best,
    Ivan
