    Hi All,

I have a page template to support ssl pages.  In this page I have  header content placeholder which I need to update. When I swap out the header content and publish, it does not show the new content but the old content over SSL.  However, if I remove the "Require SSL" attribute the new header content displays properly.  It also shows properly in preview mode with the "Require SSL" attribute still enabled.

Does anyone know how I can resolve this issue?  I need to move this new content to production in the next week and would appreciate any insight.

    Thanks.
    -Ivan

    Hi Ivan,

Require SSL does not do anything than changing the port from HTTP to HTTPS. Do you use a  page caching on the page? If so you could try using SubstitutionControl to specify a section of an output-cached web page where you want to display dynamic content.

    Hi Ivan,

Does this mean if I disable page caching it will resolve the issue?  Is there a way for me explicitly flush the cache?

    Thanks.

    Hello Ivan,

Try removing the page caching to see whether the issue is related to the page cache which is not clear from your reply. You can explicitly flush the cache since Sitefinity version 3.7 SP7 where we implemented NotifyAll method for the DatabaseCacheDependencyHandler

    Hi Ivan,

I did turn off caching for this particular page but it has not shown me the new content.  Is there a manual way to flush the cache without writing code?

    Thanks.

    Hi Ivan,

Cache is flushed when the website is restarted. So you can try recycling the application pool or making a dummy edit in the website's web.config file.

Thanks Ivan.  I think the CacheSubstitution resolved the issue.

    Hi,

We've experienced a similar issue with a website running SiteFinity 3.7.

We have a 2 web user controls on pages running under SSL. When we released new versions of these controls the updated showed in the admin end but not on the pages. No page level caching was being used and the old versions persisted despite restarting the site, recycling the application pool and performing an IIS reset.

Creating a new page and re-adding the control worked perfectly.

Additionally we had no problem in the live environment, only on the staging.

Is there any other possible explanation for this?

    Thanks,

    Lee
