    Hi,

I use libraries to store images and documents. In Sitefinity 3.7 it is not possible to create a new library in an existing library. But i would like to creat sublibraries to keep control over all images.

Wil this feature be supported in Sitefinity 4.0?

    Hello Rene,

3.x versions does not support this functionality. You will need a completely new module , base classes, interfaces and data layer. In 4.0 we will use taxonomies so that you will be able to relate your items as you want. The UI will not provide option for creating sub library in a library. You should work with taxonomies in 4.0.

    Sincerely yours,

While the use of hierarchical classifications is obviously more flexible, and in keeping with modern CMS practices (even trendy, according to Bob Boiko), it would still be useful if the CMS Admin UI could provide the option to present libraries in a treeview layout, according to user-selected “taxonomy” constraints... with the ability to set defaults.

People are used to working with folder and treeview layouts, and in my experience, find the clutter of many libraries in a list and/or thumbnail view, to be a problem. I have admins who baulk at using the images & documents module, because they find the process of searching for libraries and files too difficult.

    Hi MB,

I agree with you, but we will not be able to provide such interface for 4.0. Maybe for one of the SP or next versions. Thanks for your feedback we appreciate it.
