    Hi,

We are  trying to upgrade from 3.1 SP2 to 3.2, and are having issues. First, we get an "Object reference not set to an instance of an object" error on this command:

    showModules = Util.CheckMinimalPermissions(module as IModule);

    Line 175 in \SiteFinity\Admin\Default.aspx.cs

If I comment out code to get past this, we run into another error with loading dashboard modules. If I comment that out, then I get errors editing content.

    Any ideas?

    Hello RossCode,

Thank you for getting in touch with us.

Could you please elaborate a bit more on the exact steps which you have made for upgrading your project. We would be glad to assist you but need more information like the error message and the phase on which you get it. Additionally, please verify if you have made all necessarily changes to the web.config file.

The latest assembly version is 3.2.1500 so please verify if it is identical with the one displayed for the Telerik.Cms.dll assembly.

Thank you for your help in advance.

    Best wishes,
    Nikifor Hristov

We followed the steps in the documentation - deleted the two DLLs, removed the two folders in RadControls and copied the new bin folder and SiteFinity folder over the old files. Then I compared web.config files and added all of the new sections and updated old ones.

We are using SQL 2000. Is that a problem? How can I tell that the database was actually upgraded?

    Thanks,

    Joel

It looks like I've narrowed it down to one particular error that we get over and over:

TypeInitializationException: The type initializer for 'Telerik.Cms.Engine.ContentUlrRewriterService' threw an exception

The call stack eventually gets to Telerik.Cms.Engine.Data.ContentVersion.get_ContentBase()

Hope this helps narrow the issue down a bit.

    Hi RossCode,

We are really sorry for the caused inconvenience.

We believe we could be of best help if we made the upgrade for you. Please send us a copy of your projects' database (it should be the one created with version 3.1 SP2, not one where you started upgrading), as well as all other folders and files from your web site (the whole root directory should again be the one from version 3.1 SP2).
