    Hi,

I'm looking for a way to display the Sitefinity admin control panel in french but only english seems to be available.

I have searched the web and some say there are xml (resource ?) files that we can locailize manualy. I d'like to know where are these files (App_LocalResources ?) and if they have already been translated by someone. I'm a bit lazy ^^

    Thanks, Jérôme.

    Hi J,

Currently we do not have a French interface implemented in Sitefinity. The Sitefinity admin pages contain all their text as compiled resources that should be translated. What we can do is send you the package of resource files to translate and give back to us. We will then build them for you and send you the project with the compiled resources.
If you confirm that this is an option for you, please let us know.

    Greetings,
    Rebecca

    Hello Luc Baeten,

You can find the resources for the 3.2 SP1 (Sitefinity_3_2_1526) release attached to this thread.
Please let us know if you are using a different Sitefinity release (look at the version number for Telerik.Cms.dll in your application bin folder).

    Kind regards,
    Rebecca

    Hi there,

We also have a need for the admin site to be in French.  Is there any chance this was completed and compiled into french?

    Thanks

    Hi There,

We also have a need to have the admin site in French.  Was this ever completed and compiled?  If so can we get a copy of the compiled version with the french resources?

    Hello Adam,

We don't have French localization of the administration part. We suggest you wait for a couple of more days for us to release SP2, then we can give you the resource files for the latest release. Once you translate them, we will compile them for you.

    Hello Rebecca

I am still busy with the translation to dutch. Could I receive the  resource files of version 3.6.

Are the resource files very different when you move to version 4.0. With other words, should I wait to version 4 of Sitefinity before translating the resources files?

    Regards
    Luc

    Hello Luc Baeten,

I suggest that you should wait for version 4.0. The procedure of translating will be more easy - a new build will not be required.

If you insist I can sent you the resources for 3.6.

    Hello Ivan

Could you explain me how I should do this in detail in version 4.? And when do you think version 4 will be released?

    Hi Luc Baeten,

4.0 will be available after the middle of this year. We do not have a certain date for official release. The resource translation will be available from UI in the admin of Sitefinity.

    Hello dneret,

Thank you for using our support services.

Actually, I noticed that we had similar discussion several months ago, but we had a problem with the resources in French. All resources are translated by our community contributors and some of the files are not complete. In this case I could send you not compiled version of the English resx files and you can translate them. After you have finished the translation you can return the files back to us and we will compile them.

    Best wishes,

    Hello dneret,

Attached you will find the non compiled localization resource files for the English version, plus the FAQ texts. Please, translate them and send them over to us so that we can compile them for you. Please note that localization resources are version specific. If you are using a version different from the current latest official version, please let us know so that we can send you the ones for your version
