I'm a little 'green' with NET setup. I have a correctly configured IIS6 virtual directory and permissions. I have a SQL 2005 Express DB setup and have gotten to the "Who will be the most powerful user" screen. Upon submit, I get the following server error. What should I do at this point?

Could not load file or assembly 'Telerik.Framework, Version=3.2.1616.2, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=dfeaee0e3978ac79' or one of its dependencies. The located assembly's manifest definition does not match the assembly reference. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131040)

Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.

Exception Details: System.IO.FileLoadException: Could not load file or assembly 'Telerik.Framework, Version=3.2.1616.2, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=dfeaee0e3978ac79' or one of its dependencies. The located assembly's manifest definition does not match the assembly reference. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131040)

    Source Error:

An unhandled exception was generated during the execution of the current web request. Information regarding the origin and location of the exception can be identified using the exception stack trace below.

Assembly Load Trace: The following information can be helpful to determine why the assembly 'Telerik.Framework, Version=3.2.1616.2, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=dfeaee0e3978ac79' could not be loaded.

WRN: Assembly binding logging is turned OFF.
To enable assembly bind failure logging, set the registry value [HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Fusion!EnableLog] (DWORD) to 1.
Note: There is some performance penalty associated with assembly bind failure logging.
To turn this feature off, remove the registry value [HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Fusion!EnableLog].

    Hi Chris,

Do you have previous versions of Sitefinity installed ? It is possible that the bin folder contains different version of the assemblies. Please let us know, if both the referenced assembly under <telerik> node of the web.config file and the bin folder are same.
Another possible reason for the error, is if you by any chance have deleted the Telerik.Framework.dll assembly from the bin directory.

    Regards,
    The Telerik Team.

No, this is the first install.

I ran a disk search and I only have version 3.2.1616.3.

You wanted to know if web.config matches the bin folder. I reviewed the web.config file under the <telerik> section. While there is a subsection titled <framework> I couldn't find any references to Telerik.Framework within web.config.

I fixed this part. I implemented http://www.sitefinity.com/sf3/troubleshooting.html#14 to change the version from .2 to .3.

I also had to implement http://www.sitefinity.com/sf3/troubleshooting.html#28 as it was returing the viewstate MAC error.

I'm now at the login so this thread is closed.
