I was getting some odd IIS errors so I uninstalled IIS and sitefinity, and started over.

Now for some reason when I install sitefiniti it does not create any of the default websites/virtual directories, the websites folder under sitefinity3.2 is empty.

Also after installation i get this when trying to run:

Server Error in Application "Default Web Site/telerik/Sitefinity3.2"

HTTP Error 500.0 - Internal Server Error

Description: Handler "AboMapperCustom-546877" has a bad module "IsapiModule" in its module list

    Error Code: 0x8007000d

    Notification: ExecuteRequestHandler

    Module: IIS Web Core

    Requested URL: http://localhost/telerik/Sitefinity3.2/Default.aspx

    Physical Path: C:\Program Files (x86)\telerik\Sitefinity3.2\ProjectManager\Default.aspx

    Logon User: SOCO1\JGring

    Logon Method: Negotiate

    Handler: AboMapperCustom-546877

    Most likely causes:

    • A module is referenced in configuration, but the module has not been installed or the name of the module is misspelled.
    • IIS received the request; however, an internal error occurred during the processing of the request. The root cause of this error depends on which module handles the request and what was happening in the worker process when this error occurred.
    • IIS was not able to access the web.config file for the Web site or application. This can occur if the NTFS permissions are set incorrectly.
    • IIS was not able to process configuration for the Web site or application.
    • The authenticated user does not have permission to use this DLL.

    What you can try:

    • Verify that the module is installed. The error description may contain additional information to help you determine which module is causing the error.
    • If the module is installed, verify that the module name is not misspelled in the configuration/system.webServer/handlers config section.
    • Ensure that the NTFS permissions for the web.config file are correct and allow access to the Web server's machine account.
    • Check the event logs to see if any additional information was logged.
    • Verify the permissions for the DLL.
    • Create a tracing rule to track failed requests for this HTTP status code. For more information about creating a tracing rule for failed requests, click here.

More Information... This error means that there was a problem while processing the request. The request was received by the Web server, but during processing a fatal error occurred, causing the 500 error.

    Hi Jason,

Most probably, you need to enable 32-bit applications in the Classic.NET AppPool. This is how to do it:
    1. Launch IIS Manager from Control Panel > Administrative Tools.
    2. In the left pane, double-click Application Pools.
    3. Right-click Classic.NET AppPool in the list.
    4. Click Advanced Settings.
    5. Find Enable 32-Bit Applications and set it to true.
If the above does not help, you can check if the application pool is configured as described in section Configuring the Classic.NET AppPool of the Sitefinity User Manual.

Let us know if the problem still persists.

    Kind regards,
    Rebecca

You are correct that was not checked, but the problem still exists where after install nothing is put under the default website in IIS, its not creating the virtual directories but its not giving me an error either.

    Hello Jason,

This is really odd, as from the error message you sent earlier, Server Error in Application "Default Web Site/telerik/Sitefinity3.2", it seems that the virtual directories were created.
We would recommend that you make a clean installation of Sitefinity, this is what you need to do:
    • uninstall the previous edition
    • ensure that all files and folders are deleted from the installation directory
    C:\Program Files (x86)\telerik\Sitefinity3.2

Before running the setup, please make sure your IIS is configured as descrined in section Installing Sitefinity under Windows Vista of the User Manual.
If you prefer, you can give us remote access to your machine, so we can see what's wrong. If you opt for this, please open a new support thread.

We are sorry for not being able to help you straight away.

    Sincerely yours,
    Rebecca

I've done several uninstalls, and re-installs. The strage part is when I re-install it does not create the virtual directories and it also does not create the directorres under the sitefinity websites folder either.

its like the install is not completing.

    Hello Jason,

We are sorry to hear you are still having problems with the installation. Unfortunately, we don't know how we can help you further given the scarce information we have about the problem.
Please provide remote access to your machine and answers to the questions below. You can open a new support thread for the purpose.

    1. Did you delete all files and folders from the Sitefinity installation folder before you attempted new installs?
    2. Did you configure IIS7.0 to run as IIS6.0 as described in section Installing Sitefinity under Windows Vista of the User Manual?
    3. Was the Default Web Site stopped by any chance? The Sitefinity installer tries to create its virtual folders there and if it is stopped or does not exist, the installation will fail in creating the virtual directories.
    4. Are the other applications under the Default Web Site working fine?

Sorry for the additional mail loop required but without your assistance we won't be able to pinpoint the problem.

    Greetings,
    Rebecca
