    Hi

I got myself in a twist and installed an evaluation version instead of the community edition.  I only realised this once I started testing and began to get the warnings that I was using an evaluation version.

The client is a non profit organisation.  How can I change now to the community edition, without throwing away all the work I have done, especially the merging of config files to allow Sitefinity to work within an existing app?

    Many thanks in advance

    Andrew

    Hello Andrew Wrigley,

You need to patch the standard edition you use to community edition.

    1. You have to download the same version of Community Edition.
    2. Replace the dlls in the bin folder
    3. Merge the web.config files - community edition does not support workflow, versioning
4.Replace/merge all templates that you have with the same templates that comes with Community Edition - there are differences related to the versioning and workflow.

Once you are done with the changes above run the project to update the database schema.

    Hi Andrew Wrigley,

If you have not made any custom changes to the templates you could try just to download Community Edition and connect it to the current project database. Please work with backups.
