    We have just upgraded your software from 3.0 to 3.1.
    All worked well, like we are now able to create new project with 3.1 and administer them without any problem.

    But, when we try to upgrade our old SF-3.0 based project to 3.1 version, the upgradation steps dont work as mentioned in your Installation Guide.

    Here are the bug-details when we follow the section titled "Upgrading Projects to Sitefinity 3.1" in your Guide.
    Step 1 :: Install SF 3.1
    Status :: Done, and tested fine.

    Step 2 :: Create new project
    Status :: Done, & worked fine.

    Step 3.1 :: Go to administer the project
    Status :: Done

    Step 3.2 :: If using SQL server (mine is 2005), enter DB settings here to point to old DB.
    Status :: After this, it checks for administrators, and says that administrator found named Eplixo1. And also mentions, that you must know password of this user. Then it gives button for "I m done", and then login window.
    This is the main problematic step, as my administrator account was admin/admin.
    I am not able to login to admin panel of this project.

    Alternate method to achieve this step :: I created a new DB, and gave access to this new DB, then it asked for creating admin account and all went just like a new project. Then I edited web.config to linked to my old DB.
    This method also failed

    Step 4 :: I created a project just like a new project, and skipped step3, thinking that if all usercontrols, and old-DB-connectivity ll be placed in this new project, then it might work fine.
    This method also failed

    Please sort out this problem on an urgent basis.

    Hello Gerard,

    The startup wizard displays all users from the database which belong to the 'Administrators' group. As you said, it is Eplixo1. Are you sure that you have connected to the correct database?
    To ensure that, please copy the connection string named 'Sitefinity' from your old project to the new one. Also if you have done changes to the web.config in your old project, do them to the new one as well.

    Sorry for the inconvenience. Please let us know how it goes.

    Best wishes,
    the Telerik team
