I have this issue wherein when I go to http://dev.project.com I get the home page of my site created in sitefinity but when I go to http://dev.project.com/sitefinity/login.aspx and login using admin|admin I get the following error

Failed to update database "C:\INETPUB\WWWROOT\DEV\APP_DATA\SITEFINITY.MDF" because the database is read-only.

I dont quite understand why I am getting this error. I looked thru the forums and found this posting
    - http://www.sitefinity.com/support/forums/support-forum-thread/b1043S-bccbmg.aspx . Did everything mentioned in there but the error still stays. I am on WIndows Server 2003, IIS 6.0, .NET 2.0. Any ideas?

    Hi Femy,

    Thanks for contacting us.

Keep in mind you'll need to run IIS reset for the permissions changes to take effect. You will need to detach the database for permissions to take effect by running the SQL Server Express Utility.

If you are still receiving errors, it could be for these reasons:
    1. In your connection string, is the user name and password for the Network Service account? If you are using another user, is that user part of the db_Owner role?
    2. Are there other read-only files in the App_Data folder?
    3. Is simple file sharing enabled in your application? If so, you will need to turn it off. Go to Folder Options>View>Use Simple File Sharing (Recommended)" to view security tab in file or folder properties.
