I downloaded the community edition of SiteFinity 3.1 to evaluate for a project at work.

When I open the solution in VisualStudio 2005 and attempt to compile it without having made any changes I get the following 4 errors.

The resource object with key 'SelectAnItem' was not found
The resource object with key 'Select' was not found
The resource object with key 'Items' was not found
The resource object with key 'Cancel' was not found

I am able to run the sample sites just fine. However I'd like to dig around in teh code and see how things work.

Any idea why I"m getting these errors and any advice on fixing them?

    Thanks.

    Hi Ted,

Please copy the resource file from the attachment  in the following folders:
    • ~/Sitefinity/Admin/ControlTemplates/Blogs/App_LocalResources
    • ~/Sitefinity/Admin/ControlTemplates/News/App_LocalResources
    Hope this helps.

    Sincerely yours,

    Hi Pepi

I had the same errors as Ted had.
Your suggestion to copy the ContentSelector.ascx.resx in the described directories helped.

    Thanks

    regards

Thanks for the help, I also had this issue.

One additional suggestion/comment is that the resource file should be also extracted to the EmptyProject in the Project Manager folder, so that when you create new projects, the files won't be missing again.
