    Hi everyone,

    I'm trying to install ScrewTurn Wiki in a subfolder where Sitefinity is in the root.

    I'm having trouble getting things to work because of web.config conflicts.

    Does anyone have any experience with this?

    Hi Chris Brandsma,

    As I understand, you want to add a web application (let's call it app1) as a sub-application of the Sitefinity site (for example TIU site). In this case, you should copy the app1's folder into TIU site and create the app1 in the IIS.
    As you have noticed, configuration files are inherited in the application hierarchy, and settings are overridden, however, collections set in config files are not overridden but extended as new items are added. You should exclude some of the Sitefinity features from the app1 web.config, so they do not effect to app1.

    Here are some of the changes in the /TIU/app1/web.config:
    <configuration>
        ...
        <system.web>
            ...
            <roleManager enabled="false">
                <providers>
                    <clear/>
                </providers>
            </roleManager>
            <membership defaultProvider="MailMembershipProvider">
                <providers>
                    <clear/>
                    <add name="MailMembershipProvider" type="MailMembershipProvider"/>
                </providers>
            </membership>
            <profile>
                <providers>
                    <clear/>
                </providers>
            </profile>
            <httpHandlers>
                <remove path="*.rss" verb="*"/>
            </httpHandlers>
            <httpModules>
                <remove name="Cms"/>
            </httpModules>
            <healthMonitoring>
                <eventMappings>
                    <clear/>
                </eventMappings>
                <providers>
                    <clear/>
                </providers>
                <rules>
                    <clear/>
                </rules>
            </healthMonitoring>
        </system.web>
    </configuration>

    This way you are removing providers and clearing the setting for the app1. Please follow this procedure for all elements in the app1 web.config, for which you get errors.

    Hello, I had the same problem with Screwturn wiki as well as sub applications when I had Sitefinity in the root. I made these changes to the web.config located at the root (add before and after the <system.web> tags):

    <location path="." inheritInChildApplications="false">
        <system.web>

    ...

        </system.web>
    </location>

    I hope this helps :)

    Hello Chris,

    Just wondering if you were able to integrate ScrewTurn with Sitefinty (forms authentication).  If so, did you create a Plugin (http://www.screwturn.eu/PluginFramework.ashx)?  Or are you running Sitefinity logins seperate from ScrewTurn?

    Have a nice day.
    J
