    I setup a Sitefinity project on my local machine and did some configuration.  I then uploaded it to my server.  The database connection string is the same but for some reason when I ran the project on my server it prompted me to enter my database settings again.  I did that and everything appears to work fine.

    My only issue is that Sitefinity now shows "Project: subdomain.mytestingdomain.com" whereas before it showed "Project: Name of my project".   Not a huge deal but I'd like to change it at some point before handing over the client.

    I can't find where to actually change the project name.  I looked at the Admin.master page and I see that it's using Telerik.Cms.Web.UrlHelper.GetProjectName() to get the project name.  I'm assuming that points to the database somewhere?  or a resource file?

    Can someone just let me know where the Project Name is stored?

    Thanks much

    Hi Jay,

    You can change the cms provider node in your web.config file and add projectName attribure as bellow.

       <cms defaultProvider="Sitefinity" pageExtension=".aspx" disabled="false" projectName="1936build"
          pageEditorUIMode="Overlay"

    Let us know if there is anything else that we can do for you.

    As usual, thank you for the quick response.  That worked perfectly.

    Ivan, I'm also interested in changing my project name, as Jay stated above.  However, in my web.config file the cms provider node already has a projectName attribute containing the current project name.  When I change this attribute, and launch the project in the browser, it forces Sitefinity into the setup wizard, asking me to define the database, etc.  I believe the running the setup will force me to drop the database, in order to not get the "NN_NextValue" stored procedure error.  In other words, I'd rather not go back to square one with the database.

    Is there a way to change the current project name attribute without having to go back through the setup?

    Thanks much,
    Steve

    Hi Steve,

    Changing the project name (projectName="SomeName") should not force setting the project again. Most probably you have changed some other attribute as disabled="false".

    Best wishes,
