I have been unable to get Sitefinity running online, despite having a medium trust environment. To test this locally I looked at changing the trust level from "Full" to "Low", it appears that my local version only works in FULL TRUST mode...

How can I expect to host this when hosting suppliers tend to use Medium Trust...?

    Hi adds,

Please check our online User Manual, section Medium Trust Support. We support medium trust support. If your host has configuration different than the default one for medium trust - problems could arise. I noticed that discountasp.net hosting offer full trust support which should solve all your problems.

    Check out http://www.discountasp.net/features.aspx and http://community.discountasp.net/showthread.php?t=7510

Let us know if there is anything else that we can do for you.

Looking for help on the Medium Trust issue. The link to the user manual is for 3_5 and is broken. If you view the usermanual for 3_7 there is no section on "Medium Trust Support", only a small bit on Trust and Search Index of External Pages.

Does 3.7 no longer support Medium Trust? Was this omitted form the manual on purpose or accident? Does someone have a working link to the 3.5 manual where this documenation may still exist?

Thanks in advance for any help!
    Cheers,
    Phill

    Hi Phill Hodgkinson,

The section was excluded from 3.7 manual. Sitefinity supports default medium trust level. We will update the Manual as soon as possible and add this article. However, the easiest way to get an old version of the UserManual is downloading an old version of Sitefinity. It is not so convenient but it will be faster than other ways.

    Thanks Ivan,
I was able to get the 3.5 manual. The lastest version (3.7) of sitefinity isn't ready for Medium Trust out of the box, I still needed the manual in order to know that I had to set <healthMonitoring enabled="false" in the web.config. This was the one item that was not set as per the instructions in the older manual. I changed it from true to false and everything worked.

So I think it's probably a good idea to update the usermanual and include this section again.

    Thanks again!
    Cheers,
    Phill
