After creating a project, when I go to set up the SQL connection, I get the following error:

    Configuration Error

Description: An error occurred during the processing of a configuration file required to service this request. Please review the specific error details below and modify your configuration file appropriately.

Parser Error Message: Could not find stored procedure 'NN_NextValue'.

    Source Error:

    Line 40: <clear />
    Line 41: <remove name="Sitefinity" />
    Line 42: <add connectionStringName="DefaultConnection" applicationName="/" name="Sitefinity" type="Telerik.DataAccess.AspnetProviders.TelerikRoleProvider, Telerik.DataAccess" />
    Line 43: </providers>
    Line 44: </roleManager>

    Source File: C:\Program Files\telerik\Sitefinity3.0\WebSites\Public\web.config    Line: 42

Version Information: Microsoft .NET Framework Version:2.0.50727.42; ASP.NET Version:2.0.50727.42

This is the 30 day evaluation of Standard edition. It's happening with XP and Server 2003. Is this a bug? Anyone else experience this behavior?

    TIA.

    Hello Eric,

You are the first to report such issue and we cannot reproduce it.
This error most probably means that the database your project is trying to connect to is not upgraded yet.
Did you make any changes in the original web.config file that comes with an empty site? Otherwise, we cannot explain the reason for this error.

Please make sure of the following configuration in the web.config:
        - Role Provider is disabled:
        <roleManager enabled="false" cacheRolesInCookie="true" defaultProvider="Sitefinity">

        - Cms is disabled
        <cms defaultProvider="Sitefinity" pageExtension=".aspx" disabled="true">

These settings should cause the startup wizard to display when you run the site and you will be able to set the database connection.

    All the best,

    Vlad

This is a new project I've created. In the security node of the database, I created a user called SiteFinity, password is SiteFinity, Database name is SiteFinityTest. Here are the steps that were taken and the resulting error:

    Steps

    1. Create the Project "Test2".

    2. Open Web.config for project Test2, settings are as recommended.

    3. Create the SQL 2000 database called "SiteFinityTest2". Add the login "SiteFinity" to the db with dbowner checked.

    4. Back to all projects

    5. Edit "Test2" project.

    6. Set Database to SQL 2000

                Server: IP or DNS Name

                Username: SiteFinity

                Password: SiteFinity

                Database: SiteFinityTestSite

    Server Error in '/Test2' Application.

    Hello Eric,

After investigating this issue, we found out that it is related to Nolics. It seems that some of the queries generated by Nolics ORM are not working correctly with a case-sensitive database. We already reported this issue to Nolics and hopefully it will be fixed in the next release of Sitefinity.
Meanwhile, you can set you the database to be case-insensitive or fix the problematic procedure manually running the following scrip tinto the database:

    ALTER PROCEDURE [dbo] . [NN_NextValue] ( @CounterID nvarchar ( 50 ), @CacheSize int )

    AS BEGIN

    update [dbo] . [NN_Counters] SET CounterValue = CounterValue + @CacheSize WHERE CounterID = @CounterID

    SELECT CounterValue - @CacheSize + 1 AS CounterValue , CounterValue AS MAXVALUE

    FROM [dbo] . [NN_Counters] WHERE CounterID = @CounterID

    END

We are sincerely sorry for the inconvenience.

    Sincerely yours,
    Rebecca

No problem guys. Thank you for investigating and finding a resolution to this matter. I'm impressed by the SF/Telerik support staff.
