    Hey there everyone,

We are getting ready to purchase the standard addition of SiteFinity. I wanted to know if upgrades were freely available or between the major versions of SiteFinity. So for example if i purchase 3.x and 4.0 come out whould i have to purchase SiteFinity again?

In addition tot he when 4.0 come out will it be backward compatible to 3.5?

    Hi Duncan,

I wanted to know if upgrades were freely available or between the major versions of SiteFinity.
The updates, patches and other tolls are free for the major release you have purchased.

So for example if i purchase 3.x and 4.0 come out whould i have to purchase SiteFinity again?
If you have purchased Sitefinity version 3.x and 4.0 come out, you need to purchase a new license for Sitefinity version 4.0 in case you want to use version 4.0. You can continue using your licensed version 3.x in accordance of our terms and conditions.

In addition tot he when 4.0 come out will it be backward compatible to 3.5?
There is no backward compatibility between major versions 2, 3, and 4. You cannot upgrade version 2 to 3, 3 to 4 and so on. In Sitefinity version 4.0 we will change a lot of the product logic regarding the Generic Content.

If you have any further questions in regards to Licensing and Purchasing, our Sales team would be pleased to help you.

    Best wishes,
    Ivan Dimitrov
