    Hi,

Usually I make a few site-wide settings changes to the EditorConfigFile in Sitefinity admin like set newlinebr to false and set a few other options like code snippets etc. but there now appears to be no EditorConfigFile.xml in 3.2 so how do we set these now. Is this a change with Prometheus.

Also I would like to set some css styles to be applied to the rich text window so it looks closer to what will be in the page rather than the default times new roman look. How do you do this with Prometheus?

    Thanks

    Seth

    Hi Seth Cleaver,

Yes, this change came along with RadEditor Prometheus. The ConfigFile property is obsolete and the EditorConfigFille.xml is no longer used. The properties you used to set in it are now configurable inline, in the control declaration in EditorTemplate.ascx or the corresponding module templates, e.g. for the editor in the News module these are:
    ~/Sitefinity/Admin/ControlTemplates/News/ControlPanelInsert.ascx and
    ~/Sitefinity/Admin/ControlTemplates/News/ControlPanelEdit.ascx.
For more information about setting the editor properties, please refer to this online article:
    Setting Properties

All the possible editor tools are listed in the EditorToolsFileAll.xml file, which is not used as it only serves as a reference.
~/Sitefinity/Admin/ControlTemplates/EditorToolsFile.xml is the tools file in which you enable/disable tools for all the editors in Sitefinity. Note that the settings made in ControlTemplates override the settings in the tools file.

In order to set your own css styles for the editor content area, you need to edit the ~/Sitefinity/Admin/Themes/Default/Prometheus/Default2006/EditorContentArea.css file.

    Hi Rebecca,

    Thanks for the reply.

Does this mean I have to fine every instance of RadEditor across all modules and set

    NewLineBr="false"

in every single one of them now? I always prefer the editor to use p tags rather than br so in every Sitefinity installation I change the editor to do this.

I can't see how this new inline method used by the latest version is better in previous versions where I we had a single file to change for all editors.

Does sitefinity use a skin file anywhere... perhaps I could default the editor in a skin file?

    Thanks,

    Seth

    Hello Seth Cleaver,

Yes, it means you have to edit the corresponding templates in order to set NewLineBr="false". Themes can also be used for the same purpose. Please refer to the RadEditor Prometheus online help for details:
